Terms of Use
Please read these terms carefully before booking a place on a Rooted experience. By completing a booking you agree to be bound by these terms.
About us
Rooted experiences are operated by Carving Community CIC, a community interest company registered in England and Wales. Our experiences take place at St Nicholas Priory, Mint Lane, Exeter, EX4 3BL. You can contact us at hello@therooted.work.
Booking and payment
Bookings are confirmed on receipt of full payment of £270 per person. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. A booking confirmation will be sent to the email address you provide. Places are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Your place is not guaranteed until payment is received.
Cancellation and refunds
If you need to cancel your place, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@therooted.work. Cancellations made more than 28 days before the event date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 14 and 28 days before the event will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made fewer than 14 days before the event are non-refundable, though we will endeavour to transfer your place to a future date where possible. If Rooted cancels an event for any reason, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another date.
Transferring your place
You may transfer your place to another person at any time before the event, provided you notify us in advance. Please contact us with the name and contact details of the person taking your place.
Participation and conduct
Rooted experiences involve working with hand tools and natural materials. Participants must follow all safety guidance given by the facilitator. We reserve the right to ask any participant to leave if their behaviour poses a risk to themselves or others, or is disruptive to the experience of other participants. No refund will be given in such circumstances.
Health and accessibility
Please inform us of any health conditions, disabilities, or access requirements at the time of booking so we can make appropriate arrangements. The experience involves periods of standing and seated work. St Nicholas Priory is a historic building; please contact us to discuss accessibility before booking.
Liability
Carving Community CIC takes all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of participants. We hold public liability insurance. However, participation in any craft activity carries inherent risk and participants take part at their own risk. We are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from participation except where caused by our negligence. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss.
Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, images, and design, is the property of Carving Community CIC or its licensors. You may not reproduce or distribute any content without our prior written permission. Any work you create during a Rooted experience belongs to you.
Photography and filming
We may take photographs or short video clips during experiences for use on our website and social media. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let us know at the start of the event. We will never publish images of participants without their consent.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page. Bookings made before any update remain subject to the terms in force at the time of booking.
